A Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) was signed by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and OQ with the aim of enhancing and expanding their collaboration in the areas of environment, health, safety, and security. Additionally, the agreement sets goals for sustainable development, zero carbon neutrality, and the establishment of an institutional framework for the exchange of information and experience in these domains.

The Agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Deeb, OPAZ Deputy Chairman, and Ashraf bin Hamad Al Mamari, Chief Executive People, Technology & Culture in OQ.

The signing of the MoC seeks to further public interest in integrated environmental management while also achieving the national strategic objectives of the Zero Neutrality Plan 2050. To that end, OPAZ and OQ will collaborate more closely, exchange knowledge and insights, and create avenues for communication in the fields of environment, health, safety, and security. Additionally, EHS experts will get together on a regular basis to talk about possible problems and come up with workable solutions.
